Pets & livestock calculators
Calculators for animals you feed, breed or worry about: due dates for mares, cows and does with the checkpoints counted back from them, daily food for cats and raw-fed dogs, and whether the chocolate the dog just ate is a problem. Formulas come from veterinary references and are cited on each page. For anything urgent, the page says who to call.

Questions about these calculators
How accurate are the gestation dates?
The due date is the breed average from the breeding date; the page also shows the normal range, which is what to plan around. Enter the animal’s own previous gestation length if you know it.
Should I follow the feeding amounts exactly?
Treat them as a starting point. Every page explains how to adjust from body condition after two weeks, which matters more than the first number.
Is the chocolate calculator a substitute for calling a vet?
No. It tells you how serious the dose is likely to be so you can decide how fast to act. For anything above the mild band, call a vet or a poison line immediately.
